For more than 40 years, Basics Junior Theatre School has been inspiring, nurturing and developing young performers through exceptional musical theatre training.
Established in the 1980s, Basics is one of the original musical theatre schools in the region. From our home in Burnley, we welcome children and young people aged 3-18 from across East Lancashire, including Nelson, Colne, Accrington, Blackburn, and the Ribble Valley, and even attract students from Manchester.
Over four decades, we’ve earned a reputation for excellence, with generations of students progressing to leading drama schools and performing arts colleges in London. Many former Basics students have gone on to perform in the West End and across the professional industry, a testament to the quality of training and support they received during their time with us.
